Thyroid Cancer
It is usual for people with thyroid cancer to have fewer or no symptoms. Thyroid cancers are often diagnosed by regular testing of the neck through a general physical exam. They are also accidentally found by x-rays or other imaging scans that were implemented for different reasons. People with thyroid cancer may undergo the following signs or symptoms. Sometimes, The Person with thyroid cancer does not have any of these changes. Or, the cause of a symptom may be a different medicinal situation that is not cancer.
- Difficulty during swallowing
- Hoarseness
- Swollen glands in the neck
- Pain in the throat or neck
- A cough that persists and is not caused by a cold
- Difficulty breathing
- A lump in the front of the neck, near the Adam’s apple
If you are concerned about any variations you experience, please talk with your doctor. Your physician will ask how long and how often you’ve been enduring the symptom(s), in addition to other questions. This is to help figure out the cause of the problem, called a diagnosis.
These signs may be produced by thyroid cancer, other thyroid difficulties, such as a goiter, or a situation not compared to the thyroid, such as an infection.
If cancer is diagnosed, reducing symptoms remains an essential part of cancer care and treatment. This may be called supportive care or palliative care. It is often started soon after diagnosis and maintained throughout the procedure. Be sure to talk with your health care team about the signs you experience, including any new signs or a change in symptoms.
